Music and outdoor vibes at the inaugural Wild Coast Sun Fest
The fun meets the sun in an endless summer party
Wild Coast Sun, within the Eastern Cape, just over the KZN south coast border, is renowned for its sunny, temperate climate. With warm summers and mild winters, and fresh, clean air, this is where you’ll find the spacious 750-hectare resort, which is the perfect location for its inaugural Sun Fest this June and July.
The festival will be taking full advantage of the pleasant weather – and the perfect timing of the school holidays – to host a month-long party of note, with loads of outdoor activities for the whole family.
Surrounded by the lush beauty of the region the Wild Coast Sun is the ideal choice for tourists and travellers looking for beachfront holiday accommodation that offers leisure and adventure activities along the South Coast every day of the year but Sun Fest is going to amplify that with events like a silent disco, Segway and quad biking tours, boat rides, beach parties and the wildest inflatable adventures you can imagine.
Take it outside
Sun Fest will offer various discounts, such as 15% off one-hour Segway; for quad bike tours, passengers can ride for free but must be accompanied by a driver. At the Riverside venue, there will be a 20% discount off cruise rides, and children under 12 will be able to enjoy a free 30-minute kayak, stand-up paddle, or pedal boat ride. Hotel guests can make a day of it with meal and drink combo packages.
The beach is on your doorstep at Wild Coast Sun, so join Cell C, Bonaqua, Fanta, and Coca-Cola for a day of fun activities, including the limbo challenge, beach soccer, beach volleyball, a hula hoop showdown, and tug-of-war. You definitely don’t want to miss South Africa’s largest inflatable village where you can make a splash.
Family first
The Magic Company will be offering 10-pin bowling for just R50 per person, per game, and there will be games, music, and prizes galore at the Kids’ Disco – free entry, and exclusively for guests aged 12 and younger.
The Wild Coast Sun is famous for its 18-hole championship golf course, which many golfers insist is one of the most beautiful in South Africa. With its par-70 card rating, the course boasts magnificent ocean views and magnificently curated fairways and greens. On June 16 2025, the Youth Golf Challenge will acknowledge this significant day in South African history: juniors will play for free with a paying adult (cart seat not included), plus there will be an exciting scorecard challenge with stunning prizes.
Ahead of that will be another Youth Day celebration with a silent disco on June 15. There’ll be food and drink stands in an outdoor setting. Three DJ’s will get the tunes going from 4pm for a sunset vibe.
Fuel the fun
This is all going to work up an appetite, so check out Barcelos, home of flame-grilled chicken, where you’ll be able to fill up on a chicken cheeseburger with fries and a Black Label or quarter chicken and fries with a Heineken which will tick all the boxes for only R99. For something sweet on the go, pop in at Vida e Caffè for a milk tart and Mucho cappuccino for R50. And who doesn’t love doughnuts? The more the better, and Doo Donuts knows this so it will be offering two trays plus one free for only R49. You just can’t say no.
