KZN South Coast Night Life

In addition to the beaches and ocean that entertain you during the day, the KZN South Coast also has a buzzing nightlife to make sure you’re never without something fun to do!

You’re never far from a good time down the KZN South Coast. Starting with the vast variety of eateries and restaurants. With a harmonious relationship with the sea, it’s no surprise that top-quality seafood is a staple with the local restaurants. With institutions like The Lobster Pot, which has been serving “seafood specials” for over 50 years, or the traditional Tom Dick & Harry pub, where you can get a traditional fish and chips and other English pub fares.

Zizi’s Restaurant, a 4-star restaurant located in the Umdlalo Lodge offers up a classic and romantic dining experience, catering for meat lovers and vegetarians alike! The Packshed Restaurant offers up fusion food inspired by the team’s travels to the food capitals of the world. Trattoria La Terrazza caters to Italian food lovers with a unique Mediterranean twist, boasting a stunning view over the Umkobi Lagoon.

Check out Basset Breweries in Pennington and sip on crisp craft beers brewed in house! Their tasting room is open from 10 am-4 pm, 7 days a week. They also have a nursery, driving range, and a coffee shop nearby.

The Wrecked Heron calls itself a Ladies Bar and A la Carte Restaurant, where you can sip on cocktails seated around a unique bar boat named the “Heron.” Live sport is on offer, and beach bonfires and dance entertainment are hosted on Saturday nights. Pistols Saloon, the Wild-West themed restaurant, and bar is a family-friendly spot (swearing in the establishment is punishable with a fine that is contributed to the SPCA)! You might run into Huckleberry the donkey, who loves to sip on a Coca-Cola.

There are also a host of friendly sports bars offering up darts and pool, as well as live sport as and when it happens. Check out The Village Tavern that also hosts a karaoke evening, or the Thirsty Whale, a sports and cocktail bar on the water with a breath-taking ocean view. Blue Lagoon offers up food, fun, and ice-cold brews and cocktails on Ramsgate’s Blue flag beach.
