100 Years of Afrikaans brings three outstanding artists – Amor Vittone, Nico Booijse and Leroi Heunis – together on one stage at the Tropical Nites Theatre to celebrate the rich history and music of the Afrikaans language.
With modern interpretations of popular, new and beloved Afrikaans songs, 100 Years of Afrikaans takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through music that reflects the culture, pride and identity of a nation. Each artist brings his or her unique style and voice, with a performance that promises to offer both emotion and energy.
“Afrikaans is more than just a language – it’s a feeling, a heritage and a way of life. This show is our way of celebrating that,” says executive producer Ian Bossert of IBEnterprises (PTY) Ltd.
Amor Vittone is one of South Africa’s most famous Afrikaans singers, with a career full of golden hits and awards. Her performance brings warmth, charisma and professional brilliance to the stage.
Nico Booijse is an Afrikaans singer with a strong online following and more than five million views on his music videos. His voice brings authenticity and feel to timeless Afrikaans songs.
A versatile and passionate artist with a genuine love for Afrikaans culture, Leroi Heunis’s dynamic style and energetic stage personality add freshness and rhythm to the production.
100 Years of Afrikaans is produced by IBEnterprises (PTY) Ltd, and presented by OneWay Productions, both renowned for professional productions, and sound and lighting services across South Africa. The project forms part of a larger initiative to promote Afrikaans music and artistry, and celebrate the legacy of the language through modern interpretations.
