#Uncover Fun activities for kids on the KZN South Coast

The South Coast of KZN is a treasure trove of thrilling activities for children, offering a diverse range of attractions that promise endless fun and adventure for families. From prehistoric wonders to adrenaline-pumping adventures, here’s a snapshot of the must-visit spots for young explorers.

1. Dino Park: Step back in time at the Dino Park, where kids can walk among life-sized dinosaur replicas. This educational adventure is perfect for budding palaeontologists who can learn about the ancient creatures while having fun.

Time: 10h00 – 14h00 (Friday – Sunday)

2. Riverbend Crocodile Farm: Get up close and personal with the world’s oldest reptiles at Riverbend Croc Farm. Kids can learn fascinating facts about crocodiles, witness feeding demonstrations, and even hold a baby croc for a memorable photo opportunity. Also on offer is a unique dining experience where guests can savour exotic crocodile dishes, prepared with a local flair. Set amidst lush surroundings, the restaurant provides an unforgettable fusion of adventure and culinary delight.

3. The Ramsgate Butterfly Valley: Offers a unique opportunity for visitors to view the life cycle of the butterfly, first hand and is home to over 200 species of butterflies. It is a unique attraction where visitors can witness the vibrant colours and delicate beauty of these insects. The farm is not just a visual delight but also a hub of conservation efforts, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. Besides the butterflies the farm also offers a craft shop, tea garden and a short river walk.

4. Mac Banana: A one-stop shop for adventure; Mac Banana offers everything from quad biking and zip-lining to banana tours and a mini-golf course. Kids can also enjoy the petting zoo and indulge in the famous banana pancakes and milkshakes.
Where: Between Palm Beach and Munster (Port Edward)
Time: 08h00 – 17h00 (Mon – Sun)

5. Lake Eland Game Reserve: For the adventurers, Lake Eland Game Reserve offers a wide range of activities including zip-lining, suspension bridges, and game drives where kids can spot zebras, giraffes, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
Where: Lake Eland Oribi Gorge
Time: 07h00 – 17h00 (Mon – Sun)

6. B’s Guest Farm: Experience farm life at B’s Guest Farm, where children can interact with friendly farm animals, enjoy pony rides, and explore the countryside on scenic walking trails.

7. Pure Venom Snake and Reptile Farm: For the brave-hearted, Pure Venom offers a chance to meet some of the world’s most fascinating reptiles. Kids can learn about snakes, crocodiles, and other reptiles, and even witness live demonstrations.
Where: Izotsha Road, Shelly Beach
Time: 10h00 – 16h00 (Everyday) Closed Christmas and New Year

8. Beaver Creek Coffee Estate: While parents indulge in freshly brewed coffee, kids can enjoy the open spaces and guided tours that take them through the coffee-making process, from bean to cup.

9. The Pont Water Sports: Thrill-seeking kids will love The Pont, where they can enjoy a variety of water sports, including jet skiing, boating, and tubing, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Umtamvuna River.
Where: Old Pont Road, Banners Rest, Port Edward

11. Wild Waves Water Park: Located at the Wild Coast Sun, Wild Waves Water Park offers exhilarating water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool, ensuring hours of splash-filled fun for kids of all ages.

12. Croc world: Croc world Conservation Centre on the KZN South Coast is a family-friendly attraction dedicated to wildlife conservation. It features a diverse range of reptiles, birds, and other animals, providing educational experiences that promote the preservation of endangered species. With beautiful gardens and ocean views, it’s both an educational and scenic experience.
