Southport

Southport – KwaZulu-Natal South Coast

Southport is one of the lesser known of the South Coast’s magnificent Blue Flag beaches, but it’s a beloved (and unpretentious) beach for families, many of whom have been coming here for years, and own cottages with direct beach access. There’s a gorgeous tidal pool at the main beach, and if you head left, a 10-minute walk will bring you to another tidal pool, just before you hit Sunwich Port.

The Captain’s Anchor pub and seafood restaurant is almost on the beach and offers real value for money and famous fish and chips. Their coffee shakes are legendary, their chips are the best on the coast, and you can get a glass of white wine for R18!
