The subtropical climate and incredible natural beauty make the KZN South Coast the ultimate sports destination. Runners and walkers are encouraged to experience this first-hand by entering the 2025 South Coast Marathon presented by the South Coast Striders Athletics Club. And this year, the race – taking place on Sunday, 28 September 2025 – includes a bonus prize for the winner who breaks the marathon record!”
The KZN South Coast is a top Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events [MICE] destination, with our climate and setting ideally suited to outdoor sports events such as these,” commented Dr Vusumuzi Sibiya, CEO of South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE). “We’d like to commend the South Coast Striders Athletics Club on organising another great event that attracts athletes and tourists to uncover adventure on our shores. We encourage everyone to sign up or come support on the day – or extend your stay for a memorable spring holiday on the KZN South Coast!”
South Coast Marathon 2025 Details
• Date: Sunday, 28 September 2025
• Start and End Venue: UGU Sports and Leisure Centre
• Time: 6am
• Enter: www.webtickets.co.za

Margate Country Club on 27 September 11am to 5pm OR
UGU Stadium on race morning from 4.30am to 5.30am.

Runners can enter the 10km, 21km, or 42km races with online entries ending at midnight on Wednesday, 24 September. There is also a fun 5km fun run for families to enjoy. There is prize money for the top three, with the winner earning double the prize money for breaking the record! All finishers will receive medals on the day.
