BUY LOCAL MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM- 2023/2024

SECTION A

Introduction
South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) is mandated to drive investment along the KZN South Coast. To achieve this mandate, SCTIE has launched the Buy Local programme to encourage communities and stakeholders to support local businesses. The Buy Local programme is aimed at encouraging job creation, sustaining, and promoting local businesses. Below is a list of seven (7) reasons for buying local.

1. TOP 7 REASONS TO BUY LOCAL
1.1. Economic: buying local encourages local job creation and strengthens local economy.
1.2. Social: strengthening local value chains and building relationships between manufacturers, sellers, buyers.
1.3. Environment: a decrease in transportation time from manufacturer to seller.
1.4. Health: buyers are getting farm to fork fresh produce which is nutrient-enriched.
1.5. Investment: this grows local pride and retains local investments.
1.6. Accessibility: local businesses are easily accessible.
1.7. Resilience: this programme creates a more resilient local economy to better withstand future uncertainty.

2. CRITERIA

Local Content	Quality	Employment Opportunities
Is at least 50% of the cost of production of your products/services incurred within KZN South Coast?	Does your product or service meet high quality standards?	Does your business create or intend to create employment opportunities for people within KZN South Coast?

3. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
3.1. Marketing Exposure: this includes a range of SCTIE offline and digital marketing tools such as website, mobile app, and social media.
3.2. Essential Information Sharing: the entity will share relevant information available for various sectors.
3.3. Member Credibility: members will be listed on the South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) platforms and get a badge to use on marketing collateral.
3.4. Business Support: the entity will render campaign-based business support to Buy Local members.
3.5. Business To Business Networking: the entity aims to provide a business-to-business networking platform to Buy Local members.

4. MEMBERSHIP FEES
4.1. SCTIE does not charge for Buy Local Membership Fees until 30 June 2025.
4.2. Your membership will only be confirmed once the application forms have been received.
4.3. A minimal administration fee will be determined for the 2025/2026 financial year. Thereafter, membership will be renewed annually.
4.4. Members may opt out at any time, written confirmation must be sent to Londiwe@sctie.co.za.

SECTION 2: PRODUCT AND SERVICE INFORMATION

The information in this section ensures that SCTIE keeps track of the authorised use of its Buy Local logo – and can develop suitable promotions for members.

All information provided in this section will be uploaded onto our database for usage on the website’s search facility.

2.1 PRODUCTS/ SERVICES:
2.1.1. If you provide services or manufacture / fabricate physical products which will carry the Buy Local logo, you shall list each one here. Please include a complete list of products/services, including details of all variants and pack sizes. Please also select a sector for each product or service.
2.2.2. For services/products to qualify for endorsement with the Buy Local logo, the criteria listed on page 1 must be met.
