Escape to Scottburgh
Scottburgh is your portal to the Paradise of the Zulu Kingdom. Destinations such as Pennington, Rocky Bay and Scottburgh have been favourite holiday stops for South Africans and tourists alike for decades.
There are always a ton of fun things to do for the whole family in Scottburgh and its surrounds. The 170km South Coast coastline is a stretch of beautiful beaches and access to the warm Indian Ocean. Scottburgh main beach has been awarded blue flag status since the 2014/15 summer season. You can enjoy a day on the beach with the family, swimming, fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, whale watching, surfing and more!
With Scottburgh located so close to the beach and ocean, you’re always close to a restaurant or bar where you can chow down on local seafood and delicious dishes or enjoy a cold one while you bask in the sun.
If you care for a day away from the sandy beaches, why not take in a game of golf? With the Umdoni Country Club, Selbourne Golf Estate and Spa and Scottburgh Golf Club, you have your pick of courses! If you’d prefer a good nature walk, check out the TC Robertson Nature reserve, which hosts 12km of self-guided walking trails. There are over 180 bird species, as well as bushbuck, duiker and banded mongoose. With designated picnic and braai areas, it’s a great day out for the family.
Situated north of Scottburgh is the Crocworld Conservation Centre. This family-friendly centre hopes to help connect its visitors with nature. Learn all about crocs and other reptiles, with educational demonstrations and talks. They have an indigenous garden that they are constantly developing to introduce people to ecologically friendly plants for your garden at home!
Scottburgh and its surrounds are bountiful when it comes to the perfect accommodation for you and your family. From hotels like the Blue Marlin, to serviced and secure self-catering apartments like the Pearly Shells and caravanning at the picturesque Scottburgh Caravan Park, you’ll be sure to find something that suits your family and your wallet. Rocky Bay Resorts offers a host of activities that you can book through the resort, including MTB and running trails, shark cage diving, bird watching, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, golf and so much more!
Make the South Coast a go-to vacation destination this year! There is so much to explore in this oceanside paradise, and the coast holds something for everyone!
