Mfihlo Guest House
Owner-managed Mfihlo Guest House in Nyandezulu rural village, offers traditional Zulu hospitality. Dudu Malinga, an ex-teacher, opened her accommodation establishment, after years earlier having been exposed to the travel industry through educational exchange experiences to Sweden. Today, the Swedish flag is proudly displayed in Mfihlo Guest House’s breakfast lounge. “Mfihlo” means “secret” and the guest house is named after Dudu’s great, great grandfather. Rooms are comfortable with a great view over the rural village. Meals, traditional African cuisine and transport are available on request. Tours are also arranged with highlights being Nyandezulu rural village tours and township tours to Gamalakhe. The village of Nyandezulu has a beautiful, accessible waterfall and KwaSaka rural “beach”, crafts centre, traditional Zulu church, a traditional healer and furthermore, the Betania Mission, established by Swedish missionaries, can be visited, as well as the Ntantana and Mdlungwana mountains.
